diversity in tech scholarships
On a mission toward a kinder, more diverse tech sector
A big part our mission at Dev Academy is helping to drive more diversity in the tech sector. We graduate twice the proportion of women compared to a computer science degree and 2.5 times the proportion of Māori. As part of our on-going commitment to support under-represented individuals in to the sector, we have launched a series of Diversity in Tech Scholarships for those who apply for our August intake.
These scholarships are now closed but we will soon be announcing our Scholarships for 2025. Stay tuned for more detail.
Who should apply?
If you are considering studying with us and identify with any of the following under-represented groups in the tech sector you should definitely apply!
- Māori
- Pasifika
- Neurodivergent
- A Woman or Gender Diverse (including non-binary, genderqueer, trans and other diverse genders).

What do our Diversity in Tech Scholarships offer?
There will be several different scholarships on offer for our 2025 intakes, which will be announced in the coming weeks.
How do I apply?
We have made applying a super simple, 2 step process.
- Hit the apply now button and fill the our normal course application form. If you want a bit more info on what you need to know before applying, check out this page.
- Fill in the Scholarship Application Form, which is also linked at the bottom of this page. We will use this form to find out a little bit more about you and why you would like to study with us. We'll be asking you the following questions:
- Why do you want to study at Dev Academy and why this course appeals to you
- Why is now the right time in your life to study
- Tell us about the difference that this could make in your life or career trajectory
- Anything else you think we should know.

- Scholarship Applications open: 25 July 2024
- Scholarship Applications close: 12.00pm 9 August 2024
- Scholarships awarded: 14 August 2024
- Course start: 26 August 2024

Ready to apply?
Simply Apply Now for our August 2024 intake and then fill in our separate Scholarship Application Form by Midday 12.00pm 9th August 2024. We will be in touch soon after to the applicants to let you know if you have been successful in gaining a Scholarship.
