HUMAN SKILLS

Dev Academy provides an intensive, hands-on way to learn the coding and core skills you need to become a great developer and team member. One of the most unique parts of studying at Dev Academy is the vehicle for these core skills — our Human Skills curriculum. All of our students participate in weekly Human Skills deep dives during bootcamp.

Part of our mission at Dev Academy Aotearoa is cultural change in the tech sector. We want to be part of a more diverse, empathetic, and high trust workforce.

By guiding our students through interactive conversations about trust, wellbeing, bias, and a host of other topics, we increase the psychological safety of our students and staff, as well as equipping them with the tools to create change in the industry.

We believe the power of kind and productive communication is crucial to the workplaces of today, and tomorrow.

Students gain skills, knowledge and language to assist in resolving conflict, managing difficult conversations and being aware of the needs of others. We support our students every step of the way to integrate what they learn.

Our hope is that our Dev Academy students graduate into a caring workforce that continues to encourage their growth.
