Overview

Choose this programme if you've finished a coding bootcamp or CS degree and you're ready to learn to code in partnership with AI.

New or still learning the basics of coding? Our full-time and part-time AI Bootcamp programmes are where most people start.

The next step for the next generation of developers

  • Software engineering is changing fast — this is the programme that keeps you ahead of the change

  • Build with teams of AI agents on large codebases, not demo projects

  • Industry placements (where available) with NZ tech companies hiring for these skills

  • Mentored and coached by industry, not just classroom-led

  • Designed as a natural next step after Dev Academy Bootcamp, a CS degree, or a Level 6 or 7 tech qualification

Should I apply?

The Launchpad is designed for people who already have a coding foundation and want to take the next step into AI-native development. Here's how to know if it's right for you.

Should I apply Illustration

The clearest fit is recent Dev Academy Bootcamp graduates, especially those who finished in the past three to six months. The Launchpad is designed as the natural next step — you keep building, you keep learning, and you walk into the job market with experience that sets you apart.

You've got the foundation. What you might not have yet is the agentic experience or the real-world product delivery time that employers are starting to ask for. The Launchpad gives you both, fast.

Most of your time on the programme is spent on applied project work — whether with a partner company, or on open-source projects. If you learn best by doing the actual work, this is built for you.

We are facing an automation moment in tech. Developers are no longer coding alone, but coordinating automated systems to create faster, smarter, and more ambitious products. Today's developers run agent teams to code, while they plan, review and evaluate output, and guide the system. This requires new skills — judgement and adaptability.

This is a full-time, intensive programme. It's designed for people who want to accelerate and get hired.

What you'll gain

Hundreds of hours of real agentic dev experience

The Launchpad isn't a set of tutorials. It's 16 weeks of doing the work alongside engineers who are doing it for a living.

  • Run agent teams on real codebases. You'll work on production software, and well as projects you can throw away.

  • Build experience to navigate complex decisions. What you ship is what you show employers.

  • Get inside the companies that are hiring for this. Industry placements with Re-Leased, Springload, Fundsorter and other NZ tech partners - subject to availability and matching.

  • Learn from industry coaches and mentors. People doing this work daily, not just teaching about it.

  • Develop the judgement to keep up as the tech evolves. The tools will change. The thinking won't.
